VAIN x AARNIO: 66-year gap, zero distance

VAIN Reimagines Eero Aarnio's Bubble Chair as LOVE BUBBLE

We've partnered with Eero Aarnio Originals to reimagine one of modern furniture history's most iconic pieces: the Bubble Chair. Titled Love Bubble, the collaboration brings VAIN's design language into an iconic piece Eero Aarnio first created in 1968.

A custom VAIN heart-shaped carabiner now anchors the Bubble Chair's hanging chain, and VAIN's signature heart yokes are appliquΓ©d onto the seat cushion, folding the brand's central motif directly into Aarnio's original form.

The project pairs two Finnish visionaries across a 66-year gap: the timeless design mastery of Eero Aarnio (b. 1932) and the raw creative instinct of VAIN's co-founder and creative director Jimi VAIN (b. 1998). Seeking to build a bold contrast between historic mid-century design and contemporary Finnish fashion, VAIN and Aarnio discovered a shared intuitive mindset during an initial meeting in Veikkola, evolving their mutual connection into a full-scale creative partnership.

The campaign was shot in Hanko, on Finland's southern coast, in a stretch of wind-bent pine forest with moss underfoot and heather in late bloom. Ballet dancer Fanni Frix stars in the campaign, photographed in and around the chair against the landscape.

Love Bubble launches at a private event in Helsinki on the evening of 3 September. From the same date, the chair is available for a limited release of eight weeks, running through 31 October, exclusively at aarniooriginals.com and jimivain.com.

It will also be on display at VAIN Store Helsinki, Runeberginkatu 8, this autumn.
